April 2026

Improved Lineup Calendar Navigation

Latest
Apr 10, 2026 General

The lineup calendar is easier to navigate, and practices are now clearer when included. This helps you plan both games and practice sessions with more confidence.

The lineup calendar has been updated to make moving through your schedule more natural. You can now move forward and backward through dates more easily, and upcoming games appear as expected. When practices are included, they are now easier to recognize at a glance by utilizing your set practice calendar color and simpler labels, along with any notes you’ve added. This makes it easier to plan scrimmages or structured sessions without confusing them with games, while still keeping everything you need in one place.

Save and Reuse Batting Orders

Apr 9, 2026 Lineups

You can now create and save batting orders so they’re always ready to use. This makes it faster to build lineups and get game-day materials set.

You can now create and save one or more batting orders for your team. These are always available right below the defensive grid, so you can quickly access them when building a lineup. When you’re ready, just click “Use” to apply a saved batting order. The lineup updates instantly, helping you move from planning to a full lineup in seconds. Each lineup also includes player availability, making it easier to plan ahead when players are missing. Combined with exports, this gives you a smooth path from planning to having everything ready for game day.

Clearer Pitching Plan and Lineup Control

Apr 9, 2026 General

The Pitcher Availability Panel now keeps your pitching plan separate from the lineup. This gives you clearer control over when and how your plan is applied.

Your pitching plan and your lineup are now clearly separated. You can build a plan on its own, without it automatically changing the lineup in the grid. When you’re ready, you can apply the plan using “Use this plan,” or pull in the current lineup with “Import from lineup.” This makes it easier to adjust your approach without losing what you’ve already set. Pitchers are now sorted by their first assigned inning, so your plan is easier to read and manage. When you apply a plan, only the innings you’ve defined are updated, leaving the rest of the lineup as is. You’ll also see clear feedback showing whether your lineup matches the saved plan or not. This helps you stay in control and avoid surprises as you get ready for the game.

Improved Lineup Highlights for Visibility

Apr 8, 2026 General

Updated the pitcher and catcher highlight colors to improve visibility for all coaches. The new colors are easier to distinguish, including for those with color blindness.

The pitcher and catcher highlights in the defensive lineup grid have been updated with new colors. These highlights are still controlled using the battery icon in the toolbar. The new blue and orange colors are easier to see and tell apart, especially in bright conditions or on different screens. They also better support coaches who may have difficulty distinguishing certain colors. This makes it quicker to scan your lineup and understand your plan at a glance, whether you’re preparing ahead of time or checking things during a game.

Lineup & Dugout Exports Now Use Current Lineup

Apr 6, 2026 Lineups

Fixed an issue where exported lineup and dugout cards could use an outdated lineup. Exports now always match what you see in the lineup generator.

We fixed an issue where exported lineup and dugout cards could occasionally reflect an older version of a lineup instead of the current one. Exports now always use the latest lineup exactly as shown in the lineup generator, so what you see on screen is what you get when you print or share. This update ensures your game-day materials are accurate and aligned with your most recent changes.

More Reliable Lineups & Exports

Apr 1, 2026 General

Lineups, exports, and player settings are now more consistent, even when player names are updated.

We’ve improved how Inningly tracks players behind the scenes to make lineup generation and exports more reliable. Previously, if a player’s name was updated (for example, changing from “Johnny” to "Johnny Johnson"), some lineup settings or exports could become misaligned. This has now been fixed. With this update: A) Lineups stay consistent even if player names change, B) Exports (including Dugout Sheets) reflect the correct, current player names and C) Player settings and preferences remain intact This change improves overall stability and helps ensure what you see in the app matches what you export and share.

Inningly Product Updates

Apr 1, 2026 General

You’re looking at it! See what’s new so there are no surprises as Inningly evolves.

We’ve added a simple way to stay up to date with changes in Inningly. From now on, new features and improvements will appear on your Home dashboard. You’ll see a “New” indicator when updates have been added and you can view all updates anytime on the Updates page. This was added based on coach feedback to make sure changes are clear, predictable, and never feel like a surprise.

March 2026

Improved Preferred Position Preferences

Mar 30, 2026 Lineups

Position preferences now behave more predictably, especially for preferred positions and catcher.

We’ve improved how the lineup generator handles preferred positions, with a big focus on catcher. With this change, preferred positions are prioritized more consistently (preferred positions are set on the Lineup tab, in the rules area), behave more predictably, resulting in more "coach-like" lineups.

Roster Paste from GameChanger

Mar 11, 2026 General

Paste your roster from GameChanger to quickly add players to your roster.

You can now copy your roster directly from GameChanger and paste it into Inningly. This allows you to quickly create your roster without manual entry and get your team set up in seconds. Player names and jersey numbers are automatically detected, making it much faster to get started at the beginning of a season. Check out our blog post on how it works.

Inningly Blog

We’ve launched the Inningly Blog with content focused on helping coaches think through lineup decisions, manage teams more effectively, and reduce the mental load of coaching. You can access the blog from the main navigation or Home page, and new content will continue to be added over time.

Team Logos

Mar 9, 2026 General

Add a logo to your team and see it across Inningly and exports.

You can now upload a team logo to personalize your team experience. Your logo will appear on team pages and is included in Dugout and Lineup Card exports. There is also an option for a light background version to improve visibility when printing.

Pitcher Availability in Lineup Generator

Mar 7, 2026 Pitching

See and set pitcher availability directly in the lineup generator.

Pitcher availability is now built directly into the lineup generator, making it easier to manage your pitching plan. You can see who is available based on tracked workloads and assign pitchers by inning without switching screens. This helps keep your lineup decisions aligned with rest rules and real game conditions.

Coach’s Desk (Quick Links)

Mar 3, 2026 General

Save and organize your most-used coaching links in one place.

Coach’s Desk gives you a simple way to store links you use regularly. You can keep frequently used sites like GameChanger, SportsEngine, or practice resources in one place and access them quickly from the top of the app. Links can be reordered by dragging the icons to match your workflow.

February 2026

Print-Ready Lineup & Dugout Cards

Feb 12, 2026 General

Export clean, game-ready lineup and dugout cards.

You can now generate printable lineup and dugout cards for your games. These exports include player positions by inning in a clear, easy-to-read format designed for use in the dugout. Team logos can also be included to give the cards a more polished, professional look.

January 2026

Lineup Groups & Group Rules

Jan 11, 2026 Lineups

Create lineup groups and apply rules to manage playing time and positions.

You can now define groups of players and apply rules to them in the lineup generator. This allows you to better control playing time, manage positional rotations, and meet league play requirements by appling constraints to specific subsets of your roster. The goal is to give you more control while still letting the solver handle the complexity of building a lineup.

Save Coach’s Clips via Email

Jan 7, 2026 General

Save clips by emailing a link—no copy/paste required.

You can now save coaching clips by simply emailing a link to [email protected]. The clip will automatically be added to your account, where you can review, tag, and organize it later. This makes it easy to capture clips when you’re on the go without needing to open the app. The email subject becomes the clip title.
